Software Upgrade on the new (2nd Generation) TLM1 The software on the new 2nd generation RCI-TLM1 will allow users to customize the TFT Display to show items in the meter such as; meter scale, background, color, and logo. The new RCI-TLM1 comes with a USB stick that contains a conversion file (convert.exe). The conversion program allows user to create and store their favorite display design into the TLM1 through a USB stick or SD card. Conversion Software Operating Instruction 1. Insert the USB stick that came with the RCI-TLM1 into a USB port of any PC. 2. Execute “convert.exe” and select Meter Mode. 3. Click on the drop down menu of the Meter Source, select an item you wish to modify. The selected item will appear in the lower left window. Note: Each of the PWR, SWR, MOD, SRF, & Meter option has seven types of default meter scale. The type of default meter scale can be selected from the drop down menu of the Meter Type. (The images of the meter scales can be viewed from the meter directory USB: \ meter \ *. bmp. 4. Select a field location from the Select Field drop down menu (12 filed locations). You can now customize the meter & add your favorite photo as background. Click on “ReadPhoto” button to search & select your favorite photo from your PC. The selected photo will be displayed in the upper left window. Press ==> button, and the meter plus the selected background photo will appear in the upper right corner of the window. In addition, the field location and storage content will be shown in the lower right window. 5. Save the new TLM1 Meter image files in .cfg format to USB: \ Output \ *. cfg. To copy all the files in USB: \ output \ and paste it to USB: \ CFG \ *. cfg. 6. To load your favorite photo, select Photo Mode from the Mode Select box and click Read Photo button to browse image files from your computer, select your favorite photo. The selected photo will be displayed in the upper left window of the conversion software. Click on the ==> button, and the photo will appear in the upper right window. In addition, the field location and storage content will be displayed in the lower right window Note: All photos will be converted into a moderate size bmp file and will be stored in USB: \ photo \ *. bmp. The image files can be displayed & accessed in the Photo mode of TLM1. 7. Save the new TLM1 Photo image files in .bmp format to USB: \ photo \ *. bmp. To copy all the files in USB: \ photo \ and paste it to USB: \ photo \ *. bmp. 8. Remove the USB stick from your PC. 9. Insert the USB stick into the TLM1’s USB port. Press and hold the Display button plus l<< button simultaneously and turn the power ON. The TLM1 will automatically execute the programming updates. The display will show Erasing for about 10 seconds, and switch to Programming for about one to three minutes. After completion, the display will show Programming Finish. Re-boot the radio to complete the image conversion.
